Secretary's Desk

First you must understand...

Masons, Freemasons, or Prince Hall Freemasons, are members of the oldest and largest fraternity in the world, with millions of active members. Freemasonry originated between the 13th and 16th century or even earlier in our history, while its members have included kings, presidents, scholars, and religious figures.

Books and or movies like Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code", and or Jon Turteltaub's "Nation Treasure" have perpetuated the notion that Freemasonry is a secret society with designs on taking over the world, however, none of it is true. The facts are, that their are hundreds, thousands, maybe even milliions of freemasonry symbols scattered around the world, various counties, states and or provinces, and many other cities and towns in todays society.

The truth is that Freemasons are not part of any such conspiracy, and people who attempt to join Freemasonry hoping to gain access to secrets are not approaching the fraternity with the right intentions and those are the ones usually dissappointed and spreading rumors about our fraternity. Since the internet has existed, there's really not much secrecy anymore about FreeMasonry. In fact you'll probably find plenty of our "So Called" secrets on the internet now days, after visiting a few websites to see that we are truly not a secret society after all.

The Bottom Line...

In the end, Freemasonry will always be a beautiful (system) organization of morality, vailed in alligory, and illistrated by symbols. Just like any other self improvement program, their are practices, principles and rituals designed to help and improve someone in his journey to becoming better. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, faith, country, and fraternity.
